Direct Carbon Hydrogenation project

CBB is the main sponsor of a US based project (Direct Carbon Hydrogenation – DCH project), using Hydrogen to convert natural gas and carbon into ultra low sulfur diesel and naphta using a highly efficient and environmentally friendly manufacturing process.

The Facility will produce approximately 4.8 million barrels of diesel and 2.5 million barrels of naphtha per year. The diesel produced will have a sulfur content below 10 parts per million (ppm), better than the prevailing Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel standard of 15 ppm. Market trend is focusing on Ultra low Sulfur Diesel. New IMO 2020 rules establishing a 0.5% limit for fuels to be used in the shipping industry is an example of this trend.

The Project reached a significant milestone in receiving approval for a Title V air-operations permit.
